AbuSsaid on the PLO and the recognition of the Zionist state!
Drawing by Fahd El Hassan
Khaled AlHassan (خالد الحسن) a.k.a Abu Said, is a Palestinian leader that words won’t be enough to describe his love and dedication to his beloved home, Palestine. He was one of the ‘12 planets’ that leaded Fatah (PLO), and he insisted on working politically and using media in order to introduce and define our cause to the world, who is blindly following the mainstream. In addition, he said that who accepts a part of his country do not deserve his country. He insisted on the Palestinian right to return.
Rest In Peace Abu Said
As the Palestinians are doing a humble/bold move by going to the United Nation to try to get a recognition of their own country, the United States of America, represented by its president, Barack Hussein Obama, have been threatening with vetoing out the bid and cutting aid on the Palestinian population.
It is well-known that any population has the right for self-determination. However, it seems that everybody has this right, except for the Palestinians. In addition, the USA that claims fighting wars to spread democracy and freedom is denying the Palestinians for this basic right. They are denying us the right to exist!
After this bid, the Israeli government approved building 1,100 housing units in East Jerusalem (in the 1967 boarders) and no one condemned this act; they were sorry, but no one condemned or cut aid on Israel. However, the USA cut $200m in aid onthe Palestinians because they are seeking their own country, their “independence” from aids. What a logic!
However, it seems that their is still hope in this world. Few days ago a friend of mine shared with me this video in the EU Parliament. Cohn-Bendit, a European politician, his family escaped from Germany to France because of the Nazi’s oppression and massacre on Jews, thus he is of Jewish belief (or at least his family). Cohn talked about how Israel have gone too far, how they are doing whatever they want to do, careless of international laws or even human rights or lives. As he said “Too Much is Too Much!”
These different opinions and positions are expected in a world that is lead by interests. However, the question that asks itself. What are the next steps after recognising the Palestinian state? Will the refugees lose their right to return to their homes in all of Palestine not only the West Bank and the Gaza Strip? Recognizing our existence is vital for Existence is Resistance. However, it sounds trivial that we need other nations to recognize the existence of my nation.
Why we need there approval while history prove that we lived and still live in the land of Palestine (from the sea to the river) and while refugees in other countries spell out “Palestine?”
Why South of Sudan has this right to be recognized but not the Palestinians?
Why the Russian, English, French, Yemeni, Moroccan, Ethiopian Jews - among others - have the right to come to Palestine and kick us out and no one from the other nations condemn them?
Many questions that reflects the complexity of this issue, to say the least; however, this complexity is made by people that are refusing, maybe ignoring, to see how obvious it is. Therefore, I would say that I condemn the Jewish diaspora as I condemn the Palestinian diaspora because religion got nothing to do with this, just interests!
